Dan Maxam has contributed to Liberty's athletics facilities department since being hired in 2006. Maxam was promoted to his current position, Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities Management in 2013. Maxam manages the upkeep, maintenance and day-to-day requirements for all intercollegiate athletic facilities at Liberty. He and his staff manage each facility in order to provide an environment in which athletes, coaches, staff and fans can have a safe, effective and successful experience. Maxam anticipates the future needs and make necessary improvements for all NCAA facilities. He supervises a facilities crew to aid in the setup, tear down and supervision of athletic facilities for intercollegiate contests and practice activities. He has assisted in the coordination of new facility construction projects over the past five years. These projects include: Osborne Stadium, Williams Stadium expansion, Luurtsema Center, Cook Tennis Center, the field hockey and lacrosse fields and field house, Liberty Baseball Stadium and Vines Center practice facility. Maxam holds membership with College Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA). Prior to joining Liberty's staff full-time, Maxam served as a student worker in athletics facilities. While still a junior at Liberty in 2008, he was promoted to Director of Athletic Facilities. He graduated from Liberty in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in business finance. Maxam married the former Morgan Gunter in 2011, and the couple currently resides in Lynchburg.
