After previous stints as a student-athlete and a graduate assistant for the Liberty track & field team, Ashley Bookbinder joined the full-time staff as director of operations prior to the 2014-15 season.
Bookbinder played an integral role in Liberty's hosting of the 2016 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She also had a key part in hosting high-level meets during the inaugural season of competition at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex in 2017.
Bookbinder returned to the track & field program after spending the 2012-13 and 2013-14 school years as the internships and special topics coordinator for Liberty's Department of Sport Management.
During the 2011-12 season, Bookbinder served as a graduate assistant in the Liberty track & field office. That followed one year (2010-11) as an assistant track & field coach at the University of Great Falls in Great Falls, Mont.
Bookbinder spent three seasons (2006-07 through 2007-09) as a mid-distance runner on the Liberty women's track & field team. The native of Abbotsford, British Columbia placed fifth in the 800 at the 2009 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships and recorded a personal-best time of 2:17.23 in the event. She also recorded a seventh-place finish in the 400 hurdles at the 2008 Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Bookbinder has earned a pair of degrees at Liberty, including a bachelor's degree in communications in 2009 and a master's degree in sport management in 2012.
The former Ashley Teer is married to Liberty Football Assistant Coach Josh Bookbinder and resides in the Lynchburg area.
