The Lady Flames have won the Big South Championship title 13 times in the last 14 years and enter this weekend's tournament as the No. 1 seed. Liberty finished the regular season at 20-9 overall and 14-2 in conference play, claiming its 12th Big South regular-season crown.
Liberty will match up with No. 8 seed Coastal Carolina in the first of four quarterfinals on Friday. Tipoff is set for noon at the Millis Center in High Point, N.C., which will host the entire three-day tournament.
If the Lady Flames defeat the Chanticleers, they would square off against either No. 4 seed High Point or No. 5 seed Charleston Southern in the semifinals, Saturday at 4 p.m. The championship tilt is set for 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, with the victor earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.
