Amber Bishop hit her second home run of the day, Friday against Notre Dame.
Notre Dame built a 4-0 lead over No. 22 Liberty on Friday, before holding off a late rally for a 4-1 win, at Nancy Almaraz Stadium. Liberty went 1-1 to open the season today at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, defeating BYU, 13-3, earlier today.

- Notre Dame's MK Bonamy hit her first homer of the season, a three-run home run in the bottom of the second. Melissa Rochford and Cait Brooks had two hits apiece for the Fighting Irish. - Morgran Ryan earned the win with five innings pitched, allowing one run on five hits, before Payton Tidd came on for a two-inning save. - Julia DiMartino pitched 3 1/3 innings of one-hit softball for the Lady Flames in relief of Chase Cassady. - Autumn Bishop went 2-for-3, while Amber Bishop batted 1-for-4 with her second home run of the season.
Turning Point - With two on and nobody out in the bottom of the second, MK Bonamy hit a three-run homer to left to give the Fighting Irish a 3-0 lead.
- Liberty rallied in the sixth, sending the tying run to the plate with runners on second and third and two outs. However, Rylee Reynolds' sinking liner was snared by Notre Dame second baseman Katie Marino for the third out.
Beyond the Box Score - Notre Dame is now 4-0 all-time against Liberty in softball, as the teams met today for the first time since Feb. 23, 2013, a game which was played in Greenville, N.C.
- Liberty's last regular-season loss prior to today was April 13, 2018 at Radford. The Lady Flames had won a program-record 15 straight regular-season games since then. - Amber Bishop homered in both of Liberty's games today, the third time in her career that she has homered in back-to-back games. - Bishop is now in sole possession of fifth place in program history with 28 career homers and is ninth with 110 career RBI. - Bishop is the second player in program history, and first since Sarah Swor in 2007, to homer in each of Liberty's first two games of a season.
