Lady Flames Remain Undefeated on Season with 185-117 Win at New Mexico State

Liberty posted its second win in as many days against the host New Mexico State Aggies, as the Lady Flames secured a 185-117 victory on Saturday at the NM State Swimming and Diving Complex.

The Lady Flames are now 3-0 on the season, defeating New Mexico State (0-2) 50-38 in last night's relay meet before winning in a traditional dual meet today.

• Competing in her first collegiate meet, freshman Lauren Chennault scored 260.40 points in three-meter diving, setting a new program record in the event.

• Saturday's win pushed Liberty's dual-meet winning streak to 11 in a row, dating back to the Gardner-Webb Tri Meet on Oct. 27, 2017.

• Liberty is now 6-0 all-time when competing in the Mountain Time Zone. The team's last Mountain Time meet was the 2016 Intermountain Shootout, where Liberty swept the field that included Air Force, BYU, Utah and host Colorado Mesa.

• The last time before this weekend that Liberty defeated the same team in two distinct dual meets on back-to-back days was 2015, when the Lady Flames downed Incarnate Word 162-81 on Oct. 9 in Fort Worth, Texas, before scoring a 156-87 win at UIW the next day.

• Colleen Donlin has won the 50 free at each of Liberty's last four dual meets, a streak which started on Jan. 20, 2018.

• Two Liberty newcomers, transfers Emily Zimcosky (Ohio) and Arielle Arnett (Oakland), earned their first victories as Lady Flames.

• Defending CCSA Women's Swimmer of the Year Alicia Finnigan posted three individual event victories.

Historically Speaking
• In addition to her program record in three-meter diving, Chennault is now ranked third in program history in one-meter diving (227.77).

• Olivia Robinson sits second on Liberty's all-time top 10 in three-meter diving (225.00) and fourth in one-meter diving (223.27).

• Abigail Egolf Jensen is ranked fourth in program history in three-meter diving (222.68) and sixth in one-meter diving (222.98).

• Gianni Pitto moved up to eighth all-time at Liberty in 100 breaststroke (1:04.26) while ranking ninth in 200 breaststroke (2:20.32).

• Mikayla Herich's 10:35.59 is good for 10th in program history in 1000 freestyle.
