The Liberty women's tennis squad will compete in five title matches (two doubles, three singles) on Sunday following a strong showing on day two of the Cal State Northridge Fall Invitational, Saturday at the Matador Tennis Complex.

A long day of tennis which featured a doubles session and two singles sessions saw the Lady Flames claim a pair of doubles semifinals matches and have three players win two singles matches each (quarterfinals and semifinals) to reach the final in their respective draws.

In total, Liberty captured nine singles matches and two doubles matches on Saturday. The Lady Flames have won 21 total matches (14 singles, seven doubles) through two days of the tournament.

In doubles, the freshman duo of Tiffany Nguyen and Micaela Ode Mitre qualified for the A draw final with a 7-5 decision over Portland's Anna Oberg and Jelena Lukic. Liberty senior Kalani Soli and freshman Eloise Saraty will play for the C draw title tomorrow as well after a 6-0 victory against Annaliese County and Lucy Octave of Utah State.

Liberty's Ode Mitre, Esther Lovato and Grace Hashiguchi will each compete for a singles championship tomorrow after each player went 2-0 on Saturday in singles. Lovato, competing in the D singles flight, started the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-0 triumph over North Texas' Haruka Sasaki. In the semifinal round, Lovato knocked off Azusa Pacific's April Wong in straight sets (6-2, 7-5).

Hashiguchi won two matches as well to improve to 3-0 on the weekend and earn a spot in the E singles final. Her two victories came against Sacramento State's Paige Alter (quarterfinals in three sets, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2) and Utah State's County (semifinals in two sets, 6-4, 7-6 (8)).

Liberty's Soli, Caisey Lee Emery and Nasha Ghajar each earned one singles victory on Saturday. Soli, entered in the top draw (A singles), defeated BYU's Madeline Almeida 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2 in the quarterfinal round before falling in three sets (4-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5) to Long Beach State's Wiktoria Rutkowska in the semifinals.
