The Manhattan Jaspers scored their second goal of contest during the 58th minute to snap a 1-1 tie, and then held off a relentless Liberty attack for a 2-1 win, Sunday afternoon at Osborne Stadium.
Despite being outshot by Liberty 12-9 in the contest, Manhattan goalkeeper Marcellin Gohier's strong play, including several key saves in the second half, allowed the visiting Jaspers to come away with the victory.
Liberty drops to 3-3 on the year. Manhattan, who received votes in the national polls last week, moves to 5-1.

Turning Point With the Jaspers leading 2-1 during the 75th minute, Liberty had two scoring chances stopped by Manhattan keeper Macellin Gohier. Off a corner kick, Flames forward Tresor Mbuyu fired a shot from the right corner of the 18-yard box which Gohier was able to block with his left hand and deflect out of play. On the ensuing corner kick, defender Isidoro Garcia was able to pounce on a loose ball at the left post, but was forced to shoot wide right by Gohier.

Up Next Liberty will travel to DeLand, Fla., for its first ever ASUN Conference match on Thursday. The Flames will face the Stetson Hatters at the Stetson Athletic Training Center. Match time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
