During the annual bye week, LibertyFlames.com provided a series of interviews to review the different areas of Liberty's football team, concluding with today's interview with head coach Turner Gill.
During his first season at the helm of the Flames' football program, Gill led the Flames through their most challenging non-conference schedule to Big South play in the 10 years the Flames have played in the league.
The Flames squared off against three-straight Top 25 programs for the first time since the 1993 season, plus played ACC foe Wake Forest to three points, 20-17, on the road to open the year.
October will turn a new page for the Flames, as Liberty's focus now shifts to Big South play and the opportunity to challenge for its fifth league title in the last six seasons.
Liberty opens Big South play against Gardner-Webb this Saturday, capping off a festive Homecoming Weekend on Liberty Mountain. The Flames have won the last five meetings between the two programs, including last year's 35-3 victory in Boiling Springs, N.C.
