Senior defensive back Kevin Fogg was one of two Flames football players representing Liberty at 2012 Big South Football Media Day in Charlotte, N.C., Thursday, at the Renaissance Charlotte Suites.
Fogg, along with wide receiver Pat Kelly, was named to the 2012 Big South Football Preseason All-Conference team. Liberty led all Big South programs with eight selections to the preseason all-league teams.
Following a Noon luncheon, Fogg, Kelly and first-year head coach Turner Gill spent a few hours conducting various newspaper, radio and television interviews. During those breakout interview sessions, Alan York of the Flames Sports Network had a chance to talk with Fogg.
Fogg had a breakout season both as a defender and a return specialist in 2011. He was an All-Big South second-team honoree as a defender, as he tied for the team lead with three interceptions and finished the year with 45 tackles (33 solo, 12 assisted).
As a member of Liberty's special teams, Fogg led the country with three kickoff returns for a touchdown and averaged a national-leading 33.5 yards per return. Fogg was named a first-team All-American by the Sports Network, College Sporting News and the Walter Camp Foundation, last year.
