This photo looks at the south end of the Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex, featuring two shot put sectors, the steeplechase pit and the end of the south javelin runway.
Despite the June 29 derecho and triple-digit temperatures in the Hill City, renovations continue at Liberty's Matthes-Hopkins Track Complex. The project remains on target for an August completion.
As seen in the photo gallery below, asphalt has now been laid around the shot put sectors at the south end and the high jump apron and discus rings at the north end.
Significant progress has been made in recent weeks, as evidenced by a comparison to the photo gallery that was posted on June 15.
