Fans of the Liberty Lady Flames Women's Basketball team will get to know the players on this year's team a little better through a new series entitled "One-On-One With ...".  Today's installment features a question-and-answer session with senior forward Karolina Piotrkiewicz.

What is your favorite sport to play, other than basketball?
Volleyball, more specifically beach volleyball.

Why did you decide to attend Liberty?
After I decided to leave Xavier University, I really wanted to stay in the States and play college ball. Liberty was also recruiting me prior to my freshman year so I thought I'd check with the coaches to see if they were still willing to bring me in, plus I knew one of the coaches at that time (Assistant Coach [Karyn] Karlin and I played in the same club in France.). So Liberty was the only school I really looked at. And when I came on my visit, I really liked the girls on the team and the coaching staff. I also really like the overall atmosphere of the campus and how everybody made me feel very welcome. Finally, I was really excited about being part of such a successful program.

If you could eat dinner with three other people, who would they be and why?
Nobody other than my parents and my little brother Tom. My parents, because they are back in France right now and I haven't gotten the chance to see them too much since I came to college. And my little brother because he is no longer around (he used to go to LCA and now he is in college at St Michael's in Vermont) and I really miss him a lot.

Who is your favorite band?
I don't really have one in particular. I listen to just about anything, so it just kind of depends on the mood.

Who was your favorite athlete while growing up and who is it now?
Growing up, my mom was my hero and she was my favorite athlete. Now I don't really have one anymore. However, I really like to watch Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki play.

Who is your favorite Bible character and why?
It's hard for me to decide which one is my favorite but I am going to say Job because of his perseverance and faithfulness to God even in the hard times. This is definitely something a lot of Christians today struggle with, and I think just looking at Job as an example could be really helpful to a lot of us.

What is one event in history that you wish you could've witnessed?
The first steps of Neil Armstrong on the moon.

Who is the most famous person you've met?
Reggie Miller, Ron Artest and Isaiah Thomas.

What is your favorite food at the Liberty cafeteria?
Well, I've been living off campus for the past two years and thankfully I don't have to go to the cafeteria anymore. But if I had to pick one thing it would probably be the waffles (that's just because we can make them ourselves).

Why did you choose your uniform number?
It's a family thing! My mom used to wear #15 back in the days when she was a basketball stud, I've been wearing it ever since my second year playing basketball and so does my brother (the team didn't have a #15 my very first year of playing).

What is your biggest pet peeve and why?
Guys that don't open and hold the door for a girl! I get really irritated about it and I can get really mean about it too. I never touch the door if I am walking with a guy or even if it's just a random guy around me. I'll just stand there and wait for them to open it…and believe me I can be very patient!

What website do you visit the most frequently?
I check my emails and Facebook several times a day. Other than that, which is the greatest French website about women's basketball (French basketball and international).

What is your favorite restaurant?
I love seafood so any place with good seafood works for me. So, if there are any volunteers to take me to Red Lobster, feel free!

What is the first question you'll ask God when you get to Heaven?
Why didn't you let me grow to 6-5? No, not really. I would probably ask Him where the "Heaven's basketball court" is or where can I get some heavenly food.

What DVD do you wear out the most?
I don't really have the time lately to watch movies but I would probably say "Love and Basketball".

What is the best part about playing on the Liberty women's basketball team?
Having the most awesome teammates/friends one can ask for!

If you could play one-on-one with anyone, who would it be?
With no hesitation, I'd love to play against Dirk Nowitzki.

What is your favorite store to shop at?
Good question. When you are 6-3, you can't be too picky about that. Let's say that the places I buy the most clothes from are H&M and Aeropostale.

What is the last book you've read, outside of those required for class and the Bible?
Does a cookbook count? I don't really read a lot besides my Bible and my textbooks.

Where do you see yourself in five years?
God willing, I would be playing basketball at the pro level somewhere in Europe. If not, I would really like to be somewhere in the States coaching college basketball. And, hopefully by then I'll have started a family.
