Brye Ravettine competed in the qualifying round of the 100 back on Friday at the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.
Liberty sophomore Brye Ravettine finished 56th in the 100 backstroke, Friday at the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She swam a time of 54.95 during preliminary heats of the 100 back on Friday at the Martin Aquatics Center in Auburn, Ala. Ravettine was seeded 58th entering the event, and improved by two places from her seed. Ravettine is the first swimmer in program history to compete at NCAA nationals, in just the second season for Liberty's women's swimming team. On Thursday, she earned Liberty's first swimming All-America certificate, placing 13th in the 50 free with a 22.30. Ravettine was named All-America honorable mention for her 50 free performance, and also earned four points for Liberty. Ravettine will compete in a 100 freestyle preliminary heat on Saturday, the final day of the 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. She is seeded 43rd in the 100 free. The first session begins at noon Eastern Time, with the 1,650 freestyle.
