Avery Warley is a second team Richmond Times-Dispatch All-State selection for the second year in a row.

For the third year in a row, both Liberty redshirt senior Avery Warley and redshirt junior Devon Brown have been included on the Richmond Times-Dispatch Women's Basketball All-State Team. Each of the two Lady Flames standouts earned a spot on the second team.

Brown's honor is her third accolade in the past seven days. The Waynesboro, Va., native was previously tabbed a first team All-Big South selection and also made the Big South All-Tournament Team.

Brown, the Lady Flames' leading scorer at 16.9 ppg, is also averaging 7.1 rebounds and a career-high 2.8 assists per contest. The team leader with 60 steals, Brown is shooting a career-best 78.8 percent from the free throw line.

Brown's free throw proficiency includes an 11-for-12 performance during Sunday's Big South Championship title game win over High Point. The guard/forward finished with a team-high 24 points and a career and game-high 14 rebounds.

During the season, Brown eclipsed the 1,000-career point barrier. She currently ranks No. 6 in program history with 1,425 points.

Warley is a member of the second team all-state squad for the second year in a row. Like Brown, the center has collected a considerable amount of hardware lately. Warley was voted the MVP of the Big South Championship after garnering first team All-Big South honors three days earlier.

Warley played some of her best basketball of the season at the Big South Championship, helping the Lady Flames claim their 14th tournament title in the last 16 years. She averaged 17.0 ppg and 15.7 rpg, including a 20-point, 22-rebound outburst during a semifinal victory over Charleston Southern.

For the fourth straight season, Warley leads the Big South in field goal percentage at 57.6 percent. She also ranks second in the conference in rebounds (11.6 rpg) and double-doubles (15) and third in blocked shots (1.6 bpg).

The all-time leading rebounder in Liberty and Big South Conference history with 1,272 career boards, Warley sits No. 7 nationally in rebounds this season. Her 371 caroms in 2011-12 have set a new program single-season standard.

Liberty is seeded No. 16 in the Raleigh Region of the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship and will open tournament play at No. 1 seed Notre Dame, Sunday at approximately 2:40 p.m. The first-round game will take place on the Fighting Irish's home court, Purcell Pavilion at the Joyce Center, and be televised on both ESPN2 and ESPN3.
