Reagan Miller is the first Lady Flame to win three consecutive Big South Freshman of the Week awards since Michelle Fricke during the 1999-2000 season.
For the third consecutive week, Liberty point guard Reagan Miller has been honored as the Big South Conference The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week, it was announced today. Now a four-time Big South Freshman of the Week, Miller is joining some exclusive company. Prior to Miller's accomplishments, the only Lady Flame who had ever won the Big South Freshman of the Week award three straight weeks or at least four times in a season was Michelle Fricke. Fricke won four consecutive honors and five total awards in 1999-2000, Carey Green's first season as Liberty's head coach. Miller helped the Lady Flames post home victories over Gardner-Webb and UNC Asheville this past week. As a result, Liberty wrapped up its 13th Big South regular-season title and sealed the 14th 20-win season in program history. The Sanger, Texas native started her week by posting 10 points and three assists during Liberty's 76-44 victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday. Miller then contributed 14 points, a game-high six assists and only one turnover in 23 minutes of action during an 84-53 triumph over UNC Asheville Monday evening. Miller made four three-pointers on Monday, all of which came during the Lady Flames' decisive 28-0 run. For the year, Miller ranks No. 3 in the Big South for three-point field goal percentage (.387), No. 4 in assists (4.0 apg) and No. 6 for three-point field goals made (1.89/game). Miller has now totaled 53 three-pointers this season, which ranks fifth on Liberty's all-time single-season list. Also, her 112 assists are the most by a Liberty freshman since Sarah Wilkerson finished the 1996-97 season with 154 helpers. Liberty will close out the regular season Friday at 7 p.m., when the Lady Flames play host to Radford at the Vines Center.
