Liberty will have 10 swimmers competing in finals during day two of the 2012 CCSA Championships.
The Liberty swimming team will be well represented in Friday's finals at the 2012 CCSA Swimming and Diving Championships in Athens, Ga. Friday's morning session saw the Lady Flames qualify 10 swimmers to the finals, with seven making A finals and three qualifying for B finals. Liberty had 17 swims on Friday morning, and 16 of those resulted in lifetime bests. Additionally, the program record was broken in four out of five events contested this morning.
Bethany Wakeley placed first in the 100 fly prelims in a program-record time of 55.61. Brye Ravettine qualified second for the 100 back, swimming 54.81 to set a new Liberty standard. Margaret Riel (1:51.54), Sarah McCorkle (1:52.37) and Cori Gary (1:52.55) all broke Liberty's previous record in the 200 free, finishing fourth, seventh and ninth in qualifying. Erin Curry qualified for the A final in the 400 IM in a program-record 4:28.34. Today's action will feature pool-side, live blog coverage as the Lady Flames compete in Athens.
