The Liberty women's lacrosse team will face Lafayette in Easton, Pa., Saturday, in the team's first road game of the 2012 season.  The game will take place at the Leopards' Metzgar Fields Athletic Complex and is slated to begin at noon.

Liberty is coming off a season-opening loss to North Carolina (19-3), who currently ranks No. 3 in the IWLCA Coaches' Poll.  The matchup with the Tar Heels on Wednesday was the program's first meeting with a ranked opponent, and served as the first game played at the new Liberty Lacrosse Field.

Redshirt freshman Morgan Becker provided a pair of goals for the Lady Flames as she played her first collegiate game.  Last season, Becker missed the entire year due to injury.  The Round Hill, Va., native also grabbed one draw control in the contest.  Sophomore Karis Walborn claimed the assist on Becker's first goal of the game, which closed out the opening 30 minutes of play.

Freshman Caroline Milwicz also found the back of the net, Wednesday, scoring the first goal of her collegiate career and Liberty's first goal of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper and National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) Preseason All-Conference selection Kristen Masullo played all 60 minutes for Liberty, Wednesday.  The Berkeley Heights, N.J., native blocked away nine Tar Heel shots in the first half and ended the game with 13 saves.

Liberty and Lafayette will be meeting for the first time on the lacrosse field.  The Leopards, who will be playing their season opener, return 25 student-athletes from last year's 3-13 team.  Lafayette was voted to finish sixth in the Patriot League, and is led by fourth-year head coach Alison Fisher.

Key returners for the Leopards include 2011's leading scorer, Addie Godfrey, who finished the year with 36 goals.  Meanwhile, 2011 Patriot League Rookie of the Year Ana White led Lafayette in points (44), posting 29 goals and 15 assists, and returns for her sophomore campaign.
