Sophomore Kristen Masullo.
Liberty sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Masullo has been named to the National Lacrosse Conference's (NLC) Preseason All-Conference Team. The team was announced Thursday morning, and is selected by NLC coaches.
Last season, Masullo anchored the Flames' defense in the net, posting a NLC-best .473 save percentage, which also ranked 14th nationally. Statistically, the Berkeley Heights, N.J., native also cracked the national top 10 in saves (186/No. 4) and saves per game (10/No. 6). In the Lady Flames' contest against Central Connecticut State on March 15, Masullo posted a season-high and program record of 19 saves.
Masullo was honored at the close of the 2011 season, being named to the NLC All-Conference first team.
While many NLC programs begin play this weekend, the Lady Flames' home and season opener is next Wednesday, when No. 3 ranked North Carolina travels to Lynchburg. The match is slated for a 4 p.m. start at the Liberty Lacrosse Field on Campus East.
