Liberty volleyball head coach Shane Pinder speaks to both teams following Liberty's match at No. 8 Penn State on Friday.
LibertyFlames.com's Nick Pierce sat down with Liberty volleyball head coach Shane Pinder for an interview today. Pierce and Pinder discussed Liberty's NCAA Tournament experience, along with a brief recap of the 2011 season. Liberty concluded its 2011 campaign with a 20-13 record, after falling to No. 8 seed and four-time defending national champion Penn State on Friday in State College, Pa. The Lady Flames posted more blocks than Penn State, while Loren Thomas led all players with four blocks and Kelly Haseman added a match-high 18 digs. Among the topics discussed were the team's four seniors, who were on the court together during the final points of the match on Friday, wrapping up careers that saw the Lady Flames go 90-45. Courtney Boggs, Courtney Cooper, Kelly Haseman and Rebecca Warren became the first Liberty volleyball senior class to appear in the NCAA Tournament as freshmen and then again as seniors.
