Psych Scheet Live Results Live Webcast 2012 Olympic Trials Qualifying Standards Liberty sophomores Brye Ravettine and Bethany Wakeley will compete in the 2011 AT&T USA Swimming Winter National Championships, held Thursday through Saturday on the campus of Georgia Tech, in Atlanta, Ga. Ravettine will compete in the women's 50-meter freestyle on Thursday, while Wakeley will contest the women's 100-meter butterfly on Friday. The meet will take place at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, with six Olympic gold medalists and 64 members of the U.S. National Team headlining the field. "As we continue to build this program with an elite-level focus, we are thrilled for the opportunity to send Brye and Bethany to the US Winter National meet," Liberty head swimming coach Jake Shellenberger said. "This meet will allow them long-course racing experience during our heaviest training of the year, and will set them up nicely to achieve Olympic Trials cuts this spring." Preliminaries will be held each morning. The fastest 30 swimmers will advance to one of three evening finals. The top 20 finishers in the finals score points for their respective teams. Ravettine will swim in the 50-meter freestyle preliminary round on Thursday. She swam a time of 26.48 at this summer's 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships, qualifying her to compete in winter nationals. Additionally, Ravettine will be attempting to obtain a time of 26.39 or better in order to qualify for the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials. Wakeley competes in the 100-meter butterfly, Friday morning. She qualified for the winter nationals by swimming a 1:02.61 during a time trial at the 2011 ConocoPhillips USA Swimming National Championships. Wakeley will have an opportunity to aim for the 100-meter butterfly 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials qualifying standard of 1:01.99. In addition to their scoring competitions, Wakeley will swim a 100-meter butterfly time trial on Thursday, while Ravettine will swim a time trial in the 50 free on Friday. The meet will have a live Internet broadcast available for the preliminary and final rounds each day.
