Leading into each weekend's football match-up, the Flames Sports Network will release a video preview package, taking an in-depth look into Liberty's upcoming opponent.
During this week's FSN Opponent Preview, Alan York of the Flames Sports Network takes a look at Liberty's game with Kentucky Wesleyan, the Flames' final non-conference match-up.
The Flames have found success recently during their final tune-up before opening Big South Conference play. The Flames are 3-2 during the final game before starting league play under head coach Danny Rocco, having posted wins during their last non-conference game in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
This year's final non-conference match-up is against Kentucky Wesleyan. The Panthers are better known for their success on the hardwood than the gridiron, as Kentucky Wesleyan has won eight NCAA Division II men's basketball national championships.
On the gridiron, the Panthers have struggled out of the gates in 2011, having lost all four of their games. Two of Kentucky Wesleyan's losses have been on the road (Indianapolis and Pikeville) and the last two have been at home (Siena Heights and Kentucky State).
Saturday's meeting will be the second in the series between the two programs. The two teams first met inside of Williams Stadium on Sept. 20, 2003, with Liberty walking away with a 47-7 victory.
