Katie Russo and the Liberty women's cross country team are ranked in the Southeast Region for the third week in a row, checking in at No. 15 today.
The Liberty women's cross country team is ranked No. 15 in the Southeast Region, as announced today by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Head coach Brant Tolsma's Lady Flames remain the lone Big South Conference squad to appear in this week's Southeast Region women's rankings. ACC teams own the top five positions in the Southeast Region, headed by No. 1 Duke and No. 2 North Carolina. Liberty did not have a meet over the weekend, but the Lady Flames retained their spot in the regional rankings for the third week in a row. Liberty has been ranked as highly as No. 12 in the Southeast Region this season. The Flames and Lady Flames will return to action at Friday's Charlotte Invitational. The women's 5K race at McAlpine Park will begin at 4 p.m., with the men's 8K to follow at 4:30. At the Charlotte Invitational, the Lady Flames will square off with three other teams from this week's Southeast Region rankings, including No. 5 Virginia Tech, No. 9 Wake Forest and No. 11 Furman.
