Sports Network FCS Preseason All-America Teams Liberty was one of the top four honored FCS programs in the country on Friday, when the Sports Network released its preseason All-America football squads. Liberty placed four players on the Sports Network's annual preseason listing, with Montana State matching the same figure. The only two programs to place more players on the Sports Network's preseason All-America teams were defending national champion Eastern Washington and six-time national champion Georgia Southern. Each had five All-America selections. The Flames evenly spread their All-America honorees, with wide receiver Chris Summers and kicker Matt Bevins earning first-team accolades. Quarterback Mike Brown and nose guard Asa Chapman were selected to the Sports Network second-team All-America squads. The preseason listing consisted of 11 returning players who were voted to the Sports Network All-America first team at the end of the 2010 regular season by a national panel of sports information and media relations directors, broadcasters, writers and other dignitaries. In total, 84 student-athletes were selected to the Sports Network preseason All-America teams. The Big Sky led all conferences with 16 All-America selections, followed by the Southern Conference with 14, CAA Football with 10, Missouri Valley Football Conference with nine and the Big South and Southland Conference with six each. Eleven of the players on the Sports Network preseason listing were also included on the 2011 Walter Payton Award watch list, which is given annually to the top FCS player in the country. Brown and Summers were among the 11 top-notch student-athletes on both listings. Liberty's dynamic quarterback-wide receiver combo was joined by five first-team selections, Eric Breitenstein (Wofford, FB), Nate Eachus (Colgate, RB), Jonathan Grimes (William & Mary, RB) and DeAndre Presley (Appalachian State, QB); four second-team selections, Brandon Kaufman (Eastern Washington, WR), D.J.
