The UNC Greensboro women's volleyball team set three new school single-match records on its way to a 3-1 (32-30, 28-30, 30-19, 30-28) non-conference victory over Liberty on Tuesday evening at Fleming Gym.

The setback drops the Lady Flames' overall record to 5-12. UNC Greensboro is now 14-7 on the season.
The Spartans' Theresa Hart recorded 26 kills, Catherine Hanners came up with 36 digs and Lisa Fawell totaled 66 assists. All were program records for four-game matches.

UNCG jumped out to an early 9-3 lead in game one. However, Liberty clawed back into it and made it a tight affair throughout. UNCG, which never trailed in the game, found itself in the second tie of the game, 30-30, after Ashley Webber (So., MB, Lakeside, Calif.) posted a kill. A kill by Kaitlyn Nortz and a Lady Flame attack error then gave the Spartans a 1-0 lead with a 32-30 win.

Game two featured back and forth action will 11 lead changes. The Spartans led for the final time, 26-25, after a Liberty service error, but Mary Alice Pike (Jr., RS, Durham, N.C.) came right back and squared the match with a kill to make it 26-26. With the game still tied up, 28-28, back-to-back attack errors by Hart gave Liberty a 30-28 victory in game two.
After the intermission, UNCG came out and took control of game three with a 12-3 run midway through the game that gave the home team a 23-13 lead. The Lady Flames never got closer than seven points the rest of the way as UNCG staked itself to a 2-1 lead with a 30-19 win in game three.

The fourth game mirrored the action of game two with both teams taking multiple leads throughout. Kallie Corbin (Fr., S, Beaverton, Ore.), the reigning Big South Conference Freshman of the Week, served for two aces during a 5-0 run that gave the visitors a 21-19 lead. But this time UNCG was able to come back for the win. Lauren Keiser would put the finishing touches on the match with a kill to send the Spartans to their third straight win.
Kendall Nichols (So., OH, Hoover, Ala.) led Liberty with a season-high 15 kills, 15 digs and five blocks, while Pike came up with 11 kills and a career-best 17 digs. Corbin also set a personal best in digs (26) while adding 41 assists and four of the Lady Flames' 10 service aces.

Liberty will now travel to South Carolina to meet Big South leader Winthrop (21-2, 5-0 Big South) Friday evening at 7 p.m.
