The 2010-11 Lady Flames have earned a year-end ranking in the ITA's Atlantic Region.
After one of the program's most successful spring campaigns, the Liberty women's tennis team has been ranked 10th in the Atlantic Region in the year-end ITA Division I rankings. It is the first time the Lady Flames end the season with a regional ranking. Liberty's women posted a 15-7 overall record in its spring campaign, including a 6-1 mark in Big South matches. The conference record led to the team being named Big South women's tennis regular-season co-champions with Coastal Carolina and Winthrop. The regular season title is the program's first, while both year-end records matched program bests which were set by the 2009 squad. Five Lady Flames ended the year by posting double-digit victories in singles play, including Jordan Jenkins and Cameron Richard. Both were honored with Big South awards, as Jenkins earned all-conference in both singles and doubles for the fourth time in her career and Richard was tabbed as the 2011 Big South Women's Tennis Freshman of the Year. Looking toward next season, the Lady Flames 2011-12 recruiting class has also been named honorable mention among mid-majors by The Tennis Recruiting Network for the second straight year. Brittany Yang and Nicola Wellman headline the class, both as four-star recruits according to the site. Each signed last fall to enroll at Liberty for the upcoming 2011-12 academic year.
