After a successful showing at the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships, both the Liberty men's and women's outdoor track & field teams remain ranked in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division I Regional Index. The Big South champion Flames are listed No. 11 in the Southeast Region, while the conference runner-up Lady Flames sit at No. 14. Virginia Tech is the new team atop this week's men's regional rankings, while the Clemson women's team is still a clear leader in the women's standings. Liberty is the only Big South Conference team represented in the regional rankings for either gender. This past weekend, the Liberty men's squad won its fifth straight Big South outdoor team title and its 16th crown in the 18-year history of the Big South Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Flames also wrapped up their fifth consecutive Big South Triple Crown, which includes Liberty's conference titles in men's cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field. Meanwhile, the Lady Flames finished a clear second to Coastal Carolina in the women's team standings. Liberty competitors won eight of the 21 women's disciplines, led by Dacia Bushman, who was victorious in the women's 5K and 10K finals. Bushman is one of five Liberty athletes who will compete in the prestigious Drake Relays, Thursday and Friday in Des Moines, Iowa. Other Flames and Lady Flames will remain within the Commonwealth for the Radford Invitational, which is slated for Friday and Saturday in Radford, Va.
