Winthrop-Liberty Baseball Series to be Televised

This weekend's Big South baseball series between the Winthrop Eagles and the Liberty Flames will be televised live from Worthington Stadium by the Flames Sports Network.

Each game of the three-game series will be televised. The series opens Friday at 7 p.m., followed by Saturday and Sunday's contests each starting at 3 p.m. Nick Pierce will handle play-by-play duties and former Flames pitcher Doug Wallace will provide commentary for each of the broadcasts. Alan York will provide dugout reports/

Winthrop, under first-year head coach Tom Riginos, is currently 9-10 overall and 2-1 in Big South play. The Eagles face No. 1-ranked Florida tonight in a non-conference game. Liberty will enter the series at 12-10 overall and a 3-0 Big South ledger. The three-game series concludes a seven-game homestand for fourth-year head coach Jim Toman's squad.
