Tristan Stayt helped the Flames roll over Bucknell, Tuesday morning, 6-1.
The Liberty men's tennis team won five of six singles contests to push its win streak to four matches, Tuesday morning, defeating Bucknell, 6-1, in Orlando, Fla.
The win increases the Flames' record to 6-6, while the Bison's defeat snapped their own four-match win streak, dropping their record to 4-5.
The Flames started off with a sweep of the doubles matches, grabbing the first point on the afternoon. Siim Tuus and Bejnamin Wirth defeated Anton Kovic and Evan Zimmer, 8-5 in the No. 1 matchup, while Giancarlo Lemmi and Shea Thomas won by the same margin at No. 2, taking down Gregg Cohenca and Mark Malloy.
Tristan Stayt and Mandeep Yadev cleaned up in the final doubles match, defeating Josh Katten and Kelly Morque, 8-4.
In singles, the Flames continued their strong play, taking five of the six contested matchups.
Stayt and Lemmi won running away in their No. 2 and No. 4 matches, respectively, only dropping a combined four games. Stayt defeated Zimmer, 6-2, 6-0, while Lemmi beat out Kyle Rosan, 6-1, 6-1.
Stanislav Vaughan also won a straight-set match, overtaking Gregory Maxson, 6-4, 6-2, in the No. 6 slot.
Tuus and Thomas battled through three sets, as both came out on top in their respective No. 1 and No. 3 matches. Tuus defeated Cohenca, 6-3, 2-6, 6-3, at No. 1, and Thomas beat Katten, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4.
With the overall match already decided, Yadev dropped a close contest at No. 5 singles, 1-6, 7-6, 10-8, as the final set was played with rally scoring.
