LibertyFlames.com Meet Preview

From the press box overlooking the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex, LibertyFlames.com will provide live blog coverage of both days of the 2011 Big South Indoor Track & Field Championships.

The Liberty men's squad will be chasing an unprecedented 14th consecutive team title at this meet, while the Lady Flames will seek their second team championship in a row and ninth overall conference crown.

I'll be with you for more than nine hours today, focusing the pentathlon and heptathlon for the first half of the day. Field events will then get started at 2:30 p.m., with the women's shot put and women's long jump. Today's first running event will be the women's 60-meter hurdles trials at 2:55.

By 7 p.m. this evening, Big South champions will be crowned in 11 different events, including the women's 3K, distance medley relay, long jump, shot put and pentathlon, as well as the men's 3K, distance medley relay, long jump, high jump, pole vault and shot put.

I will be using the interactive CoveritLive blog interface, which I utilized for the first time toward the end of the 2010 outdoor track & field season. This will allow all readers to submit comments and questions throughout the day, as you follow your favorite Flames and Lady Flames' progress.

It will be easiest for me to provide detailed accounts of the running events, but I'll also make my best effort to keep an eye on the field events as the day progresses.

Without further ado, go Liberty!
