Danny Rocco, fresh off a fourth-straight Big South title and a third-consecutive Top 25 final season FCS ranking, has inked 10 new recruits for the upcoming 2011-12 academic year.

The 10-athlete class is the sixth in Rocco's tenure on Liberty Mountain and is his smallest signing class. Liberty had previously signed 11 new recruits in 2007 and 2009.

Liberty's 10 2011 signees hail from five different states, including Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia.

Half of this year's signing class is homegrown talent, with each of the five future Flame student-athletes currently ranking on the Roanoke Times Top 100 high school recruits in Virginia.

Only four FCS programs inked players on the all-state high school ranking, with Liberty and Old Dominion leading the charge with five selections each. Liberty Christian Academy offensive lineman Grant Jones, who signed with Liberty, is the top FCS commitment on the listing at No. 33.

The 10 new student-athletes to sign with Liberty today will look to continue Liberty's upward trend and help the program retain its position of national prominence, much like Rocco's first 77 signees (24 – 2006, 11 – 2007, 13 – 2008, 11 – 2009 and 18 – 2010).

Rocco's recent graduating senior class just completed the most successful four year run in program history. Liberty's 2010 senior class posted a 34-11 record and are one of one three FCS programs in the country to win eight or more games each seasons, joining Dayton and Appalachian State.
