The Liberty Lady Flames will continue their 2010-11 campaign this weekend in Lexington, Va., taking on Mount St. Mary's and host VMI in a tri-meet, Saturday at 2 p.m.

Liberty is 3-5 on the year after falling to Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia Southern and Radford in a quad meet on Jan. 8 in Fort Myers, Fla. Despite the setback, Lady Flame Brye Ravettine was named the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) Swimmer of the Week, becoming the first Liberty athlete in history to win the award. Ravettine swam a season-best time in Florida, winning the 50 freestyle (24.13) and finishing second in the 100 backstroke (1:00.34). Ravettine now ranks No. 4 in the CCSA in the 50 free.

Also swimming a season-best last weekend was freshman Lindsey Romkes, who won the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:54.23, which marks the fifth-fastest time in the conference.

After the tri-meet this weekend, only the Davidson Duals remain on Liberty's schedule before the 2011 CCSA Championships, slated for Feb. 17-19 in Athens, Ga.

Mount St. Mary's (6-3)
The Mountaineers (6-3) are the only non-CCSA squad that Liberty will face this season, as they are part of the Northeast Conference (NEC). Mount St. Mary's has not competed in the pool since Dec. 4, when the team lost to Radford, 105-100, in Emmitsburg, Md.

The Mountaineers picked up their first wins of the 2010-11 season on Oct. 29, sweeping a home tri-meet by defeating St. Peter's, VMI and Manhattan. The squad was also present at the Radford Invitational along with Liberty, where they finished fifth (Liberty ended the meet in sixth place).

Courtney Griffith, a two-time NEC Swimmer of the Week this season, is the team's top performer. She holds the NEC's second-fastest time in the 50 free (24.47) and the 100 fly (57.36).

VMI (1-10)
The Keydets haven't competed since Dec. 4, when they dropped both matches in a tri-meet against Catholic and Howard. VMI picked up its first dual meet win of the year on Dec. 2, defeating Hollins.

Briana Allard is the team's top conference performer, as she ranks 14th and 15th in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, respectively. Meghan Doss is the fastest short-distance freestyler, with her fastest time in the 50 free being 27.38.

Freshman Mia Cunicelli swam a team-best and season-fastest 1:09.54 in the 100 back on Dec. 2 against Hollins.
