Game Day Central The Liberty men's basketball team hits the road after going 3-1 in its recent four-game homestand. The Flames will travel to Hampton, Va., to take on the Hampton Pirates, Wednesday. The meeting against the Pirates marks the third all-time and the first in over 14 years. So far, neither team has won a game on their home court when going head-to-head. The first meeting between the two squads took place Feb. 1, 1996 and resulted in the Pirates edging the Flames inside the Vines Center, 77-72. The following season, Liberty travelled to Hampton and returned the favor, cruising past the Pirates, 69-42, on Dec. 16, 1996. Liberty steps into Hampton's HU Convocation Center with a 7-5 record on the season. The Flames are coming off a 71-62 home victory over CAA member William & Mary on Saturday. Hampton enters the matchup with the Flames touting an 8-2 record overall and a 1-0 posting in MEAC play. On Monday, the Pirates hosted Towson, defeating the Tigers, 78-67. Tipoff for Wednesday's meeting between the Flames and the Pirates is slated for 7 p.m.
