Head coach Carey Green's Lady Flames will be back in action on Dec. 18, with a road game at North Carolina Central.
FSN Radio Audio Archive Page During Liberty's longest gap between women's basketball games this season, Nick Pierce caught up with Lady Flames head coach Carey Green and sophomore guard/forward Jelena Antic. They discussed the team's first eight games and looked ahead to the remaining contests this month.
Liberty is off to a 3-5 start this year, battling a challenging schedule and some adversity. Big South Preseason Player of the Year Devon Brown sat out the first seven games due to injury, before returning to the court for Sunday's game at James Madison.
In Brown's absence, Antic took on a larger scoring role. The Macedonia native is averaging 10.3 ppg, 5.4 rpg and 2.0 spg so far this season, all of which are increases from her freshman year numbers.
The Lady Flames do not play again until Dec. 18, when they travel to North Carolina Central for a non-conference tilt. Liberty is in the midst of a string of nine consecutive games played away from Lynchburg, as the Lady Flames will not play their next Vines Center contest until Jan. 17, versus Radford.
