Redshirt sophomore Jennifer Klugh appears on today's Coach's Corner, two days before the Big South Cross Country Championships.
With the Big South Cross Country Championships slated for Saturday, Nick Pierce caught up with Liberty head coach Brant Tolsma and redshirt sophomore Jennifer Klugh, who is expected to be one of the top contenders in the women's race.
Both Liberty teams will aim to defend the Big South cross country titles they captured a year ago. The men's squad is in search of its sixth consecutive Big South crown, while the Lady Flames look to win for the fourth time in the last five years.
Individually, Sam Chelanga enters the meet as the two-time defending Big South men's cross country champion. On the women's side, the trio of Klugh, Dacia Bushman and Hailey Neal hopes to claim Liberty's first Big South women's individual cross country title since Heather Sagan in 2001.
Radford will host the meet at Blacksburg Middle School in Blacksburg, Va. on Saturday. The women's 5K championship is slated for 10:30 a.m., and the men's 8K race will go off at 11:30. Keep an eye on the official Liberty Flames Twitter account (twitter.com/libertyflames) for live updates throughout both races.
