Chancellor's Cookout Moved to Friday Night; Practice Time Altered

Due to inclement weather throughout the day on Thursday, Liberty's administration has decided to postpone today's scheduled Chancellor's Cookout until Friday. The event was scheduled to begin at 5:15 p.m., inside Williams Stadium, prior to Liberty's 6:45 p.m. evening football workout.

The annual event, which is planned in conjunction with an evening football training camp session, was created to introduce Liberty's incoming freshmen to Liberty Athletics' game day traditions.

Liberty Dining serves a catered meal at the stadium, while Chancellor Jerry Falwell, Jr., Liberty Director of Athletics Jeff Barber and head football coach Danny Rocco welcome the newest Liberty fans to campus. Following the introduction of the freshman football players, Rocco would have blown his whistle to start another training camp practice.

The new student activity has been moved to tomorrow afternoon at Williams Stadium, with an inverted schedule of events. Liberty's football program shifted its Friday practice plan one hour and will now practice from 3:20 to 6 p.m. Dinner will still be served starting at 5:15 p.m., allowing the student body to watch the final 45 minutes of practice before the schedule of events begins for the night.

After Rocco meets with his squad at midfield and blows the final whistle at 6 p.m., the same schedule of events that was slated for today will run, including the introduction of Liberty Athletics' game day traditions and time for Falwell, Jr., Barber and Rocco to address all of Liberty's newest students.
