Below is a journal entry from Tolu Omotola, chronicling the Lady Flames' Saturday in Israel, which featured the team's first contest of the Friendship Games, a 75-25 win over Germany.

DAY 7
Finally, we got to play today. This is what we've been waiting so patiently for. After having an intense practice yesterday, we knew we were ready to play against our first international team.

Our first game was against Germany, and was a huge win, with a 50-point margin of victory. The game started out great and also finished out strong. After the game, we got to enjoy some fun and relaxation by the pool, and were even given some great fruit to enjoy.

To top off a great win, and a great afternoon, the Lady Flames joined about five other basketball teams from all over the world for a fun night of karaoke in the midst of beautiful Eliat. We of course had an advantage in the songs, and the Lady Flames scored their second win of the day in the karaoke competition. We had a complete team effort in this competition, and were led by strong performances from LaKendra, Dymond, Amber and a few others. It was a great experience and one I will never forget.

NOTE FROM THE SID
As Tolu mentioned, Liberty opened play at the 2010 Friendship Games on Saturday with a comfortable, 75-25 victory over its opponent from Germany. It was a true team win, as 10 different Lady Flames found the scoring column and 11 players pulled down at least one rebound.

Devon Brown paced three Liberty players in double figures, scoring 16 points, while Avery Warley grabbed a team-best nine boards. The Lady Flames came up with 17 steals in the contest, with LaKendra Washington's three thefts sparking Liberty's aggressive defensive effort.

Emily Frazier (2 points, 2 assists and 2 steals) and Tolu Omotola (8 points, 5 rebounds) both made successful debuts in a Liberty uniform, while Brittany Campbell (4 points, 4 rebounds) played well in her return from injury.

Here are some of the Lady Flames' statistics, courtesy of Sam Choi and Caleb Shultz.
