LibertyFlames Twitter Page LibertyFlames.com NCAA Regional Preview The Course at Yale - Hole-by-Hole For the second time this men's golf season, LibertyFlames.com will be providing live hole-by-hole coverage at this week's NCAA Men's Golf Regional, via the LibertyFlames Twitter page. Just like it did at the Big South Men's Golf Championship in April, LibertyFlames.com will be posting scoring updates following each hole, as the web site will be following the action of Liberty golfers Robert Karlsson (So., Kalmar, Sweden) and Max McKay (Fr., Jacksonville, Fla.) at the New Haven Regional. The pair are two of five individuals who, along with 14 teams, will be vying for the right to advance to the NCAA National Championship in Chattanooga, Tenn., on June 1-6. In order for either Karlsson or McKay to advance to the NCAA National Championships, which will be conducted on The Honors Course, either golfer will have to finish as the top individual at the New Haven Regional who is not on the Regional's team championship squad. Competition at the New Haven Regional is slated to open on Thursday morning at 8 a.m., for the first of 18 holes of play on the par-70, 6,749-yard Course at Yale. Widely considered the No. 1 college golf course in the country, the Course at Yale is recognized as one of the finest examples of early American course design. Large deeply bunkered greens and narrow rolling fairways are the core of Yale's penalizing character. Two of the holes - the 432-yard par-4 No. 4 and the 238-yard par-3 No. 9 - have been ranked among the world's 100 most difficult holes. The course, which opened for play in 1926, was designed under the supervision of Charles Blair Macdonald, the renowned golf course architect, champion golfer and co-founder of the USGA. During the first 18 holes of completion on Thursday, the LibertyFlames Twitter page will be walking the course with Karlsson, this year's Big South Men's Golfer of the Year. Karlsson will tee off at 9:50 a.m., off No. 1, a par-4, 410-yard opening hole. On Friday, the web page will provide hole-by-hole coverage of McKay, this season's Big South Freshman of the Year. McKay will be in the final group, teeing off at 10:20 a.m. The LibertyFlames Twitter page will wrap up coverage at the New Haven Regional on Saturday by following Liberty's top golfer heading into the final 18 holes of action. Fans wishing to follow Liberty Athletics' coverage at the New Haven Regional will need to "follow" the LibertyFlames Twitter page by clicking here or the link at the top of the page.
