Today, LibertyFlames.com will begin a several week series where web site correspondent Nick Pierce sits down with each coordinator and position coach to review Liberty's football program following its annual spring practice.
The series opens with an in-depth interview with head coach Danny Rocco, who has guided the Flames to three-straight Big South Conference titles and the best four-year stretch in the program's near-four decade history (32-13).
Last year, Rocco's squad finished the season with an 8-3 record and was ranked No. 21 in the final FCS Coaches poll and No. 22 in the last Sports Network listing.
For his fifth year on Liberty Mountain, Rocco returns 43 letterwinners and 14 starters for the 2010 season, which opens on Sept. 4, 2010, at home against St. Francis, Pa., in a newly renovated Williams Stadium.
The Spring Football Recap segment will return later this week when we sit down with defensive coordinator Tom Clark and talk about some of the alterations Liberty has made to its 3-4 defensive formation.
