Sophomore Sierra Clearwater earned was named to the National Lacrosse Conference All-Tournament Team after scoring a total of seven goals during Liberty's two NLC Tournament games this past weekend.
Liberty lacrosse midfielder Sierra Clearwater was named to the National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) All-Tournament Team as announced recently by the conference office. Entering postseason play after recording nine goals in the regular season, the Mechanicsville, Md., native heated up in the conference tournament, netting a total of seven tallies in Liberty's pair of contests this weekend. In the Lady Flames' opening contest against Jacksonville, the sophomore was one of three Liberty players to score a pair of goals in Friday's matchup. On Saturday, Clearwater posted her best performance in Liberty's season finale against Howard, racking up five goals on the day, while also winning five draw controls for the Lady Flames. Clearwater's five-goal performance ties her with teammates Kristin Crowley and Lauren See for the most goals in a single game by a Liberty player. Crowley accomplished the feat on two occasions during the regular season, scoring five goals versus Howard (March 6) and against Central Connecticut State (March 26). With her strong NLC Tournament showing, Clearwater finished the season as Liberty's No. 2 scorer with 16 goals. In addition, the midfielder also concluded Liberty's inaugural campaign second on the team in free position goals (5), shots (37), shot percentage (.432) and shots-on-goal (31) and third in shot-on-goal percentage (.838).
