The Liberty University softball team, along with Big South conference rival Winthrop, will be conducting a benefit hitting skills clinic on Saturday, April 3. The clinic will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. at Liberty Softball Field and will be led by the players and coaches from both teams. All proceeds will go to the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

Friends of Jaclyn is a program that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. The foundation was inspired by Jaclyn Murphy, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in March 2004 when she was nine. Jaclyn's strength and courage, relentless spirit and joy for life are an inspiration to those who know her. Her wish is "for all children in hospitals to be healed." The Lady Flames have adopted sisters Kayla and April Jace from the organization as honorary team members this season.
