Eastern Kentucky returns 11 letterwinners from last year's squad, highlighted by senior Shyenne Hussey, who led the team with a .349 batting average, which was the sixth best in the conference. A key newcomer for the Colonels will be junior transfer Noelani Esperas, a pitcher who was a first-team All-American at Eastern Arizona College, and posted a 27-6 record and a 1.40 ERA as a sophomore.

Liberty is 3-0 all-time against Eastern Kentucky, and the two teams last met in 2000. The Lady Flames swept that doubleheader, 6-5 and 5-4, at home on March 6, 2000. This game will mark the Colonels' first of the season.

The Lady Flames will UMBC at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The Retrievers are coming off of a 34-21 overall record in 2009 and a fourth-place finish in the America East Conference (12-8).

The team returns 16 letterwinners and eight starters, led by senior Amanda Fefel, who boasted a team-best .381 batting average in 2009. Also returning is junior pitcher Stephanie Weigman, who led the squad with a 2.20 ERA and 293 strikeouts last season.
Liberty is 11-9 all-time against the former Big South member, and the Lady Flames took the last victory, 5-0, on February 25, 2006, as part of the Seahawk Classic in Wilmington, N.C.

USC Upstate
