For the third consecutive week, a Liberty women's basketball player has been recognized by the Big South Conference. Redshirt sophomore forward Avery Warley is the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Basketball Player of the Week, for games played Jan. 19-25.

Warley (Washington, D.C.) led the Lady Flames to road victories at Charleston Southern and Coastal Carolina last week, helping Liberty extend its winning streak to seven games. She recorded a pair of double-doubles, averaging 16.5 ppg and 14.0 rpg while shooting 66.7 percent (14-of-21) from the field for the week. Her presence in the paint contributed to Liberty's significant advantages in rebound margin (89-47) and points in the paint (68-14) during the two games.

Warley led all players in both points (18) and rebounds (16) during Saturday's victory over Charleston Southern, setting a season high for boards. She then posted 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds versus Coastal Carolina Monday evening. Warley single-handedly outrebounded the Chanticleers in the second half (6-5), as Liberty became the first visiting team to win at Kimbel Arena this season.

Liberty has now captured a Big South weekly award in each of the last three weeks, after Jelena Antic (G/F, Skopje, Macedonia) was tabbed Big South Freshman of the Week on Jan. 12 and 19.
Four different Lady Flames have now been recognized by the conference in 2009-10. Devon Brown (R-Fr., G, Waynesboro, Va.) earned the Big South Player of the Week honor on Nov. 24, and LaKendra Washington (G, Milwaukee, Wis.) was named Big South Freshman of the Week on Dec. 1.

Liberty will continue its four-game road swing Saturday at 4 p.m., with a key Big South Conference matchup at High Point. The Lady Flames are currently 5-1 in conference play, sitting just one-half game behind Big South co-leaders High Point (6-1) and Gardner-Webb (6-1).
