Burrus Named BSC Freshman of the Week

The Big South Conference announced today that Liberty forward Antwan Burrus has been named The Crons Brand Freshman of the Week for his performance in the Flames' 99-39 win over Kentucky Christian on Saturday.

Burrus (Winterville, N.C.) scored a team-high 15 points, grabbed five rebounds, blocked one shot and went 7-of-10 from the field in just 12 minutes of action to help the Flames past Kentucky Christian. He also added three offensive rebounds and was 1-of-1 at the line during his most extensive action of the season. The forward was averaging 2.0 points and 0.8 rebounds entering the game against Knights.

Burrus and the Flames return to action Tuesday night against Shawnee State. The matchup marks the first meeting between the squads and the fourth contest in Liberty's five-game homestand. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in the Vines Center.
