Today, continues its weekly question-and-answer series with the Lady Flames volleyball team, designed to give fans a unique look at the two-time defending Big South champions. Junior outside hitter Karyl Bacon is this week's featured Lady Flame.

Karyl Bacon has given the Lady Flames a spark since returning from an ankle injury, leading the team to five wins in its last seven matches. Most recently, the Temecula, Calif., native tallied a season-high 17 kills in a Friday victory over Charleston Southern and came up with a career-high 30 digs last night at Radford.

Bacon, who has been a regular in the Liberty lineup since her freshman season, is approaching a career milestone. She enters this weekend's trip to Coastal Carolina and Winthrop with 973 digs, leaving her just 27 shy of 1,000.

Last season, Bacon made the all-tournament team, after helping the Lady Flames claim their second consecutive Big South championship. She also represents the volleyball team on Liberty's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) and is a two-time Big South Presidential Honor Roll member.
