Lady Flames' Quick Hitters
-- Liberty snapped a two-match losing skid Friday, with a 3-1 victory over Charleston Southern at the Vines Center.

-- Serving was one of the Lady Flames' keys versus CSU, as Liberty tallied a season-high 11 aces. The Lady Flames have now served for at least one ace in 134 straight matches, a streak which began on Oct. 7, 2005.

-- Redshirt senior right-side hitter Brittany Pacella led the way with a career-high five aces against Charleston Southern, which is the most by a Lady Flame in any match this season.

-- Sophomore Courtney Boggs tallied her first win in four career starts at setter, after notching a Liberty season-high 53 assists. She also completed her third career double-double with a dozen digs.

-- For the first time this season, four Lady Flames reached double figures in kills in the same match, led by Karyl Bacon's career-high 17 kills. Chelaine McCarty (14 kills), Nicki Scripko (12) and Loren Thomas (10) joined Bacon in double digits.

-- A pair of Lady Flames are approaching career milestones. McCarty sits 63 kills shy of 1,000 for her career, while Bacon needs 57 digs to reach the 1,000 mark.

-- Sophomore libero Kelly Haseman has recorded double-digit digs in 10 consecutive matches, the longest streak of her career. She only needs six more digs this season to eclipse her total from her entire freshman campaign (307 digs).

-- Liberty will attempt to reverse a trend which has seen the Lady Flames drop the opening set in four consecutive matches. However, Liberty has come back to win two of those contests (at Gardner-Webb on Oct. 9 and vs. Charleston Southern on Friday).

Scouting Reports
-- The Highlanders are coached by Marci Jenkins, who is 20-32 in her second season at Radford and 50-58 in four total years as a collegiate head coach.

-- Radford has already exceeded its win total from the entire 2008 season (9), but the Highlanders have lost five of their last six matches.

-- Lynchburg native Laura Waddell, a 5-11 junior outside hitter, paces the Highlanders with 191 kills.

-- The Lady Flames and Highlanders are meeting for the second time in 15 days, after Liberty recorded a 3-1 win over Radford at the Vines Center on Oct. 6. It was the Lady Flames' 16th consecutive triumph in their head-to-head series with the Highlanders, dating back to the 2001 season. Liberty leads the all-time series, 33-25.

-- Nicki Scripko recorded a match-high 19 kills, including the 1,000th of her career, during the teams' Oct. 6 contest. Radford freshman setter Desiree Aramburu paced her team with a double-double (33 assists, 15 digs).

Coastal Carolina
-- The Chanticleers are coached by Kristen Bauer, who owns a 188-153 record in her 11th season at the helm.

-- Coastal Carolina has won four straight matches and six out of seven. Most recently, the Chanticleers handed conference leader UNC Asheville its first Big South loss, in a 3-2 decision Saturday at Kimbel Arena.

-- The Chanticleers and Lady Flames are ranked No. 1 and No. 2, respectively, in blocks among Big South teams. Coastal Carolina senior middle blocker Jill Nyhof sits No. 4 nationally with 109 rejections on the year.

-- Liberty will attempt to complete a season sweep of the Chanticleers, after recording a 3-1 win at the Vines Center on Sept. 26. Chelaine McCarty sparked the Lady Flames with one of the best matches of her career, hitting .559 with a career-best 22 kills and eight blocks. She was named Big South Player of the Week for her efforts.

-- The Lady Flames have won seven straight contests against Coastal Carolina, increasing their overall advantage in the head-to-head series to 26-16.

-- The Eagles are coached by Sally Polhamus, who is 45-37 in her third season at Winthrop.

-- Winthrop has won six out of seven contests, since losing 3-2 at Liberty on Sept. 25.

-- The Eagles are 10-1 in home matches at the Winthrop Coliseum, with their lone loss coming at the hands of UNC Asheville by a 3-1 score on Friday.

-- Junior outside hitter Kaley Viola is in the midst of a breakthrough season for the Eagles. She currently leads the team in kills (277), aces (32) and digs (206).

-- Liberty leads the all-time head-to-head series with Winthrop, 23-15, after winning an epic 3-2 match Sept. 25 at the Vines Center. The Eagles fought off a dozen match points, before the Lady Flames took the fifth and deciding set, 27-25.

-- Nicki Scripko's 19 kills and 16 digs led the Lady Flames, who have now won five straight contests against Winthrop. Viola had 21 kills and 15 digs for Winthrop.

-- Last season, Liberty posted a 3-0 sweep at Winthrop on Oct. 17, 2008, for the Lady Flames' first win at the Winthrop Coliseum since 2003. Ashley Webber hit a program-record .875 with 14 kills that evening, leading Liberty to the road victory.
