Two Liberty baseball signees for the 2009-10 academic year were selected on the final day of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft. Michael Robertson was selected in the 40th round (1,199 overall pick) by the Cincinnati Reds and Cameron Giannini was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 49th round (1,470 overall pick) of the first-year player draft.

Robertson (OF, 6-2, 195, Mill Creek, Wash.) hit .314 with two home runs, 23 RBIs and 12 stolen bases to help Bellevue Community College to the NWAACC championship, a league that only uses wood bats. Robertson signed with the Flames last week and just completed his freshman season at Bellevue.

Giannini (RHP, 6-4, 210, Danville, Va.) was an early signee in November after a two-year period at Hargrave Military Academy posting a 12-4 record with a 1.78 ERA. In 89 innings pitched, he surrendered only 24 walks, while striking out 145 opposing hitters. Giannini also batted .565 with nine home runs and 63 RBIs over 2007 and 2008. The right-hander earned VIC all-conference first team honors in 2007 and 2008, was named to the Danville All-Metro Team in 2007 and 2008 and was named 2008 VISAA all state second team in 2008. Giannini was also named to the Rawlings all-region team for 2009.
