Getting to know Kelly Strickland

What is your favorite Bible verse and why?

Philippians 4:13; "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." I love that verse because it lets me know that God is always behind me, supporting me in whatever I do.

What has been your favorite class at Liberty and why?
My GNED class has been my favorite. My professor is funny and makes me want to learn and be interested.

I know it's not good for me, but I love to eat …
Sugar Babies. I know they're loaded with sugar and caramel, but they are so good! I love them.

What was the best movie you watched over the last year?

The Dark Knight. I've never really been into Batman, but that was one of the best movies I saw over the summer.

I came to Liberty because …

I got a softball scholarship, and when I came to visit I fell in love with the campus and the wonderful Christian surroundings.

My earliest memory while competing in my sport is …

When I was in little league I would always beat the guys out of every position.

The best part of being a Liberty student-athlete is …
Knowing that I stand for something… knowing that there are other people who would love to be in this spot.

My dream job would be …
A physical therapist.

If you could have one super power, what would it be and why?
To pass through objects. That way, if I got locked out of my car, house or class, I could just walk in. Or I could just go anyplace I wanted just by looking at a picture.

If I were named "Coach for a Day", I would make my coaches (and why) …

Go through all the same drills and workouts that we do.

My favorite thing about being a part of the Liberty softball team is (and why) …

The way my teammates make me feel at home. They pick on me and help me. They're my family away from home.

My personal goals this season are …

To be the best that I can be for my team, coaches, myself, and most importantly, God.

What cartoon character are you most like (and why)?

Spongebob Squarepants, because he is funny and unpredictable, and he laughs at everything.

The first thing people notice about me when they meet me is …
My accent.

When you were a child, what did you want to be "when you grew up" and are you pursuing it still as a career/profession after graduation?
I wanted to be either a cosmetologist or in the medical field. I am majoring in kinesiology to transfer and do physical therapy. So yes, I am still pursuing my career.
