For the second week in a row, Liberty junior setter Kallie Corbin has been recognized by Collegiate Volleyball Update (CVU.com) as a Top Performer. She was one of 11 players in the nation honored for her play during the week of Nov. 17-23.

Corbin (Beaverton, Ore.) played a key role in Liberty's second consecutive Big South Championship, this past weekend. The junior became the first player in conference history to capture back-to-back Big South Championship MVP honors, after helping the Lady Flames repeat as conference tournament champions for the first time in program history.

During Liberty's three victories at the Big South Volleyball Championship in Asheville, N.C., Corbin paced the team in assists (111) and service aces (6), while sharing the team lead in digs (41). She also contributed 10 kills and nine digs on the weekend.

Corbin saved her best performance for the championship match versus Coastal Carolina on Sunday. She hit .353 with seven kills, 46 assists, a team-high 21 digs and a trio of blocks during the Lady Flames' 3-1 victory over the Chanticleers.

Corbin was also recognized as Big South Player of the Year at last week's Big South Volleyball Awards Banquet. She was the fourth player in program history to receive the prestigious honor, and the first since Erin McKeown in 2003. Corbin became the first setter since UNC Greensboro's Liz Gremillion in 1995 to be tabbed Big South Player of the Year.

Corbin and the 25-8 Lady Flames will make the program's fifth appearance in the NCAA Division I Volleyball Championship, by virtue of their Big South title, beginning either Dec. 4, 5 or 6. The team will learn its first-round opponent and destination Sunday at 10 p.m. on ESPNU.
