For his stellar outing against No. 23 Youngstown State, Rashad Jennings was named the Sports Network's National Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Following his dominating performance in Liberty's victory over No. 23 Youngstown State, the honors continue to roll in for the Flames' Rashad Jennings. Earlier this afternoon, the senior was named the Sports Network's FCS National Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Jennings (RB, Sr., Forest, Va.) rushed for a career-high 220 yards on 29 yards. He averaged 7.6 yards per rushing attempt, the fifth-best rushing performance of his three-year career at Liberty. Earlier in the day, he was named the Big South's Offensive Player of the Week for the sixth time in his career,

The senior became the 13th player in program history to surpass the 200-yard mark in game and the first since fellow teammate Zach Terrell rushed for 241 yards against Chattanooga on Oct. 8, 2005.

The rushing total was the sixth-best in Big South Conference history, while his three rushing touchdowns on the afternoon moved him in to second place on the league's all-time rushing list with 30 career scoring runs.

Jennings shared the national honor with Colgate's Jordan Scott. The senior tailback rushed for a career-high 272 yards and four touchdowns, leading the Raiders to a 31-24 victory over Fordham. In the contest, Scott became the NCAA FCS all-time leader with 1,153 career rushing attempts. He needs 62 more rushing attempts to become the NCAA Division I all-time leader.

Scott and Jennings rank No. 1 and No. 3 nationally in average rushing yards per game. Scott is averaging 203.5 yards per game, while having rushed for nine touchdowns. Jennings ranks two spots below Scott, averaging 145.3 yards per game and having scored five times.

On Aug. 29, the Sports Network honored both Jennings and Scott when the organization named the pair of top-notch running backs to the preseason Walter Payton Award watch list. The award is given annually to the top FCS offensive player in the nation.

Jennings is the 11th player in Liberty's history to garner national football player of the week honors and the first since last year.

On Nov. 13, Dominic Bolden was named the College Sporting News National Special Team Player of the Week, after the return specialist tallied 198 kickoff returns yards on three tries, including a 73-yarder for a score.
