South Alabama golfer Marc-Etienne (205) came from three strokes behind teammate Daniel Burns (207) to win medalist honors at South Alabama's Palmer's Toyota Fall Intercollegiate, which wrapped up Tuesday at the par-72, 6,850-yard Azalea City Golf Club. Liberty (874) finished its season-opening tournament in eighth place out of 13 teams, jumping up two places from the start of the day. Preston Dembowiak (215) finished in 15th place, eight strokes behind Marc-Etienne. Tobias Pattersson (219) and Jay Calvo (221) tied for 25th and tied for 34th, respectively. Nathan Schenz-Davis (223) and Chris Watters (223) shared 45th place, while Stephen Dooley (236) rounded out the Liberty golfers, tying for 78th. Marc-Etienne edged teammate Burns and Erik Barnes (207) of Austin Peay by two strokes each. J.P. Putnam (208) finished in fourth place, three strokes behind the leader. Host South Alabama (834) won the team championship, finishing 21 strokes ahead of second-place Austin Peay (855). South Florida (856) rounded out the top three, one stroke out of second place. Liberty takes three weeks off before returning to the links at Northwestern's Windon Memorial Classic at the North Shore Country Club, in Glenville, Ill.
