Today, LibertyFlames.com continues its women's soccer feature, "Free Kicks with …" Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during the season, "Free Kicks with …" hopes to help you get to know the Lady Flames a bit better. Up next is defender Elia Lake, one of several newcomers to the Liberty Lady Flames squad this season.

Lake, a redshirt sophomore, has started each of her first three contests in a Liberty uniform, as a defender this season. After transferring to Liberty from Tusculum in 2007, she earned Big South Presidential Honor Roll mention.

The Alexandria, Va., native began her collegiate career at Tusculum in 2006. She played in 20 games, with 19 starts for the 14-3-3 Pioneers, as they won the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional and advanced to the Elite Eight.

Lake graduated from Forest Park Senior High School, where she was all-area, won the Coaches Award and was named team MVP in 2006. She also received team MVP honors on two other occasions. Her Forest Park teams captured two district titles and finished first in the region in 2006. Lake also played volleyball in high school.

1. The best part about being a Liberty student-athlete is …
being able to represent Liberty University and having others respect and support you. Also, it's nice to be able to miss a class or two for away games! : )

2. If you could compete against any athlete in any sport, who would it be and why?
 Paolo Maldini!! Because he is the best soccer defender in the world! Look him up on YouTube, people!!

3. Who is your favorite Bible character and why?
Job is my favorite Bible character, because he was a man who truly sought after God. Job refused to give up on God, no matter what was happening to him. This inspires me to keep trusting God, no matter what difficulties come my way.

4. If you could eat dinner with three other people (living or alive), who would they be and why?
1. Martin Luther King - He impacted our world greatly and will never be forgotten.
2. Alicia Keys - She is an amazing music artist. I love her because I also played the piano and many people tell me I look like her!
3. Aunt Michelle- My father's sister who passed suddenly from cancer. She went into a coma, before I could talk to her again…Love and miss you. God Bless.

5. When I have an hour of free time, I like to
take bubble baths!

6. If someone would look at the songs on my iPod, I would be embarrassed for them to see I have this song or artist …

7. What TV station do you watch most often?
I watch the shows What Not To Wear, Extreme Makeover House Edition and CSI.

8. It is not good for you, but I still eat …
the amazing double chocolate cake from the ‘rot (Liberty Cafeteria)!!!

9. A place I would like to visit one day is …
Brasil!

10. What are five things you could not live without?
A BIBLE, music, my facial bronzer, fruit smoothies and my MOM (I love you)!!!

11. What is something about you that other people don't know?
I'm named after one of my grandfather's brothers!

12. What was the best movie you watched over the summer?
Hancock with Will Smith!!

13. Who is the most famous person you have ever met and how did you met them? Elephant man!! He is a reggae music artist. I went to go visit my family in the Caribbean, and he was at the airport in St. Maarten.

14. Who is your favorite Liberty athlete to watch compete?
Darren Amoo on the men's soccer team!! Go LU Soccer : )

15. My dream job would be …
a personal nutritionist for celebrities or famous athletes!
